The first week of February 2010, Len Silvester
http://www.ttlphoto.com and I decided one Friday morning to drive 13hrs 1 way to Le Claire IA. We've been hearing about these fantastic Eagles that winter over at this certain lock and dam. We drove all afternoon and into the night, had a 2 hour nap and made sure we were at the lock for first light.
Lucky we had the idea because we were among the first people there and the birds put on quite a show for about 2 hours, after that they sat in a tree the rest of the day. Best day because the one shot made a daily for National Geographic!
